Early summer in Denmark

How is the weather like in Roskilde when you visit Denmark ?

Well that is a very good question 🙂 and hard to predict here 2 months ahead but largely you will experience daytime temperatures ranging 20-25dg C, you will have sunny days, see cloudy days and may even experience rain.

July brings with it the warmest weather of the year. Rainfall may drive visitors indoors for a short amount of time. As a result, it is adviceable to bring some raingear in order to stay dry while out exploring the city and the area. Overall, however, the rain is generally short-lived and won’t ruin an entire day’s activities.

There are many different weather forecast stations, trust them or take it with a bit of uncertainty here 2 months ahead of time 🙂  one of them is accuweather.com

We are thrilled the rate our summercamp was fully booked.

We launched the camp mid December 2025 with a deadline for applications set to May 1st 2026 – recieved the first 2 applications mid January and could report fully booked already February 10th, simply just amasing. Just about every participant have transferred their Camp Fee payment before the officially deadline and information on their travelarrangements are given to us making pick-up planning much easier. Latest initiative is a WhatsApp Group to facilitate intercommunication between our participants and we hope every participant will join the group.

The program as we have prepared it for you

We are getting close to finalize the program for the camp. Do remember that you are the highest priority during your 2 week stay with us here in Roskilde. We have arranged some events and sightseeing but giving you all an experience and memories for life is the name of the game for us in Roskilde South Rotary Club. Find the program under PROGRAM2026

One of the local events here in Roskilde marking springtime is just around the corner is when our Viking Ship Museum is preparing to set the ships back in the water after the winter.
That is going to happen on April 11th.

We are finalizing the program for your July Camp and will keep you updated.

Thank you to all of you that have completed your Camp Fee payment by now and have sent us your travel-arrangements.

Shortly it is time for you to arrange your payment as we have confirmed to all participating in the Roskilde Short Term Camp they are accepted.

Later but in the month of March we will address you directly with the details on how to arrange payment.

Camppreparation is on-going and we are ready to give you some possible events you may experience during your stay.

• Roskilde South Rotary Club are now happy to announce that we as of February 10th are fully booked with 18 young people age 16-18 from 15 different countries.
  We promise to work hard on finalizing the program and will keep you all updated.

We continue to add foreing flags in the list of participating countries and we are now close to be fully booked.

At the present applications from 14 different contries are now being processed. If you want to go then don’t wait to long as country lists are filling up quickly.

Regarding dietary restrictions for any reason:

As the campus will be in a scout centre with only one kitchen and as the participants will be encouraged to prepare food from their home countries, solely for practical reasons we cannot guarantee to be able to accommodate dietary restrictions. Participants are asked to adhere individually to any dietary restrictions.

   Endnu en sommerlejr er i støbeskeen planlagt til at løbe af stablen i 2026 som en del af Rotary Youth Exchange programmet – en lejr for internationale unge.

Campen varer to uger og ligger fra 20-31. juli 2026.

   Another summer camp is in the works and is planned to run in 2026 as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program – a camp for international youth.

Duration will be 2 weeks and is planned  to run July 20-31.  2026
